{"id":422,"date":"2021-03-17T20:59:48","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T20:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emsmatters.com\/?p=422"},"modified":"2021-03-17T20:59:48","modified_gmt":"2021-03-17T20:59:48","slug":"the-hero-research-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emsmatters.com\/?p=422","title":{"rendered":"The HERO Research Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t\t\n<p>The HERO (Healthcare Worker Exposure Response and Outcomes)\nResearch Program is a community of people working in the healthcare industry\nwho share what it is like to work and live during the COVID-19 pandemic, and\nallow participants to participate in research projects on COVID-19.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Registry recently launched a study known as\nHERO-TOGETHER to understand the long-term outcomes of COVID-19 vaccination and\nis looking for participants willing to help provide data on long-term vaccine\nsafety. Participants in the study will be asked about side effects and changes\nin health since vaccination and may be compensated up to $200 for their time. This\nprogram is operated separately from the V-Safe program from the Centers for\nDisease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is meant to compliment rather than\nreplace this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to be eligible to join the HERO Registry and\nparticipate in the study, you must be at least 18 years old and working in a\nhealthcare setting. This includes workers who provide direct patient care (such\nas doctors, nurses, and therapists), as well as workers who provide services\nsuch as housekeeping, food service, and maintenance in a healthcare setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further information about the HERO program and HERO-TOGETHER\nmay be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heroesresearch.org\">http:\/\/www.heroesresearch.org<\/a>.\nAdditionally, the HERO-TOGETHER study has provided a website (known as the\nTogether Toolkit) with premade flyers, formatted emails, and other literature\nto help spread the word about the program.
