The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) extends provisional licenses till June 30, 2021. Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the NREMT has decided to continue to issue provisional licenses to EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics who successfully complete and pass the cognitive NREMT exam. The provisional license will be issued automatically to those who successfully pass. This allows providers to have an active National Registry Certification until they can take and pass their Psychomotor skills test. Providers who receive a provisional license will still need to complete their Psychomotor test on or before December 31, 2021 or they will lose their active certification.
